Bright lights…

Let me share with you something I came across this week…

We have so many lights in our school community- lights in our children, staff and our parents and carers; we are extraordinarily lucky that we have so many that shine their light on others when and if they need it.

This week has shown that even despite the frantic organisation of Christmas, our core business of providing an excellent education to your children can still be obtained; achieving the Centre of Excellence Inclusion Mark for a second year (one of only 240 schools nationally to be awarded this prestigious title), the quality of the artwork for the Wideopen nativity trail, the discussions held in classrooms around the suffragette movement and the rights and wrongs of protest, are just a few examples of many I have observed this week. This is no mean feat; as both academic learning and ensuring Christmas is special this year for our children are important to us, just in different ways. It does take some good multi-tasking and prioritising skills though!

What is so special however about our community… something that is unique to us and those who belong here at Greenfields, is that there is no shortage of light. So even on those days when you need it most, you know you can always find light here…

We look forward to hearing all about those who shine for you in your home learning task this week.

Have a lovely weekend everyone… keep shining!
