World Book Day 2023!

Our children had the most fantastic day yesterday celebrating World Book Day. They enjoyed listening to and sharing books while cozying up in their pjs with blankets and cushions, as well as enjoying hot chocolate with marshmallows.

The Great Outdoors

The great outdoors
At Greenfields we love outdoor learning; children learn and thrive when outside having fun. Research suggests that outdoor learning boosts confidence, social skills, communication, motivation, physical skills, knowledge and understanding in children. It has also been found to boost children's self-esteem, self-confidence, ability to work cooperatively and positive attitude to learning. This is certainly something we believe in and something we see every single day.

Fruit Kebabs

Fruit kebabs
Here are some of our youngest children enjoying making and eating their very own fruit kebabs. Cookery is a very important element of Design Technology. Every year group in school from pre-school to Year 6, will take part in cooking at some point this academic year in their DT lesson.

Book
Mae Jemison famously became the first African American woman in space on the Space Shuttle Endeavour in 1992 but years before that historic journey, she was a little girl who dreamed of dancing in space. Her mother told her, "If you believe it, and work hard for it, anything is possible." Little Mae's curiosity, intelligence, and determination, matched with her parents' encouraging words, paved the way for her incredible success at NASA. This inspirational introduction to a trailblazing astronaut will encourage children to reach for the stars and never give up on their dreams.

Reminders

Please be reminded that the school day starts at 8.40am for all of our children. The children will be taken into school at this time so children must be on the yard before this. Doors will be shut once the children have entered the building. If your child is not in school for this time and they will be marked as late.

Please only send your child into school with a water bottle filled with water. Although, I understand that Prime is extremely popular with many of the children, it is not allowed in school along with fizzy drinks and energy drinks.
Fundraising
Thank you to those of you who have purchased raffle tickets from Early Years as part of their fundraising event. There are still some raffle tickets left; if you would like to purchase some, please go to the school office. Details of the fantastic prizes to be won are in the office window.
We really appreciate your continued support.
