Astronomy Club

This week in Astronomy club, the children were challenged to create a space craft that would protect an egg from crash landing - how many do you think survived?

The Great Outdoors!

As you all know, at Greenfields we believe that getting the children outside is very important and as you can see our Muddy Bairns never fail to learn and have fun outside.

Remembrance

Remembrance Day Service

Thank you to our visitors who helped us with our Remembrance Day Service; Sergeant Paul Currey, Fusilier Les Farthing, Captain Darren Chrisp of 5th Fusiliers and Reverend Pauline Pearson. Thank you to our children for putting on a beautiful service to remember those who have fought for their country, lost their lives for their country and who continue to fight for their country today.

We will remember them.

We always teach our children they can be whatever and whoever they want to be. This takes bravery and courage, but it is something we believe is very important.

Be brave book
What do you do when no one can see your monsters but you? At first, Molly runs from them. But they follow her down the sidewalk, getting in the way when she tries to make a new friend, popping up unexpectedly out of shadows, and multiplying. Until finally...Molly faces her fears. Author-illustrator Brooke Boynton-Hughes delivers a modern classic in this moving adventure that honors everyday acts of bravery and the power of friendship to banish the monsters that haunt us.

Children in need

Children in Need

On Friday 18th November it's Children in Need. On the day we invite children to come into school in non-uniform for a voluntary contribution of 50p. Children can wear something spotty, accessorise with spots or if they prefer to, they can wear non-uniform with nothing spotty in sight. During the afternoon, children will take part in a range of activities and there may even be some teacher challenges in our celebration assembly.
Warm welcome

Warm Welcome

Every Monday morning at St Columbas Parish Church in Wideopen between 10am and 12pm, the Church hold a 'warm welcome'. This means that the Church is open to anyone who would like to go along for a hot drink and a scone or a piece of cake. There are craft activities to take part in or if you'd prefer you can simply read a newspaper or do a crossword in the quiet of the Church hall.
