Transition
The children had their transition week this week, where they spent time with their new teacher. They all had lots of fun getting to know their new classroom and the staff who are going to be working with them in September.

Meet the Teacher
As part of transition week, families got the chance to come and meet their child's new teacher and see their new classroom. Although it was very hot, it was lovely to see so many of you in school.

Treat Afternoon
On Thursday, the children had a treat afternoon where they took part in a range of fun activities, either at Lockey Park or in Forest School. We all had lots of fun and we certainly enjoyed the treats!

Summer Fayre
Wow! What a fantastic Summer Fayre we've had. Thank you to everyone who came and a huge thank you to the GFPTA for organising such a brilliant event for our community.

Trips
Last week, Year 2 went on a trip down to the Quayside to learn all about our bridges as part of their learning on 'The Great Fire of London'.They then returned to school to continue the fun in Forest School. Year 3 went on a trip to Cullercoats Bay, where they enjoyed everything the beach has to offer, including a bag of chips each.

It's Not Goodbye, It's See You Later!
It's time to say goodbye to our amazing Year 6 children. We are all very proud of each an every one of them and we wish them lots of luck for secondary school. Remember to come back and visit - remember it's not goodbye, it's see you later!

Eating at Asda during the school holidays
To help tackle hunger at a time where the cost-of-living is higher than ever, all children aged 16 and under can access a hot or cold meal for £1 at Asda from 25th July-4th September.
|
Asda has announced that in a bid to keep children fed over the holidays, they'll be able to get a meal at a local store cafe seven days a week, with no minimum adult spend requirement.

Visit Seven Stories this summer!
Seven Stories have holiday activities for children in receipt of free school meals (aged 4 to 16 years and attending Newcastle schools) four days a week for the first four weeks of the summer holidays, including an exploration of our galleries, an outdoor story trail and a free healthy lunch:

Year 4 & 5 Girl's Football
Last week, some of our Year 4 & 5 girls took part in a football tournament at Cochrane Park. They had great fun playing against a number of different North Tyneside schools. Well done girls!

The Star Awards
Huge congratulations to Alfie, who was a finalist at the NTLT Star Awards. He was nominated for and chosen to be in the final of the 'Useful and Kind Award.' Well done Alfie, we are so proud of you.
