Headteacher's Message
|
What a brilliant term we've had at Greenfields. As always the children have worked incredibly hard and had fun while doing it. I'm sure you will agree, the Christmas performances each year group put on were outstanding and really show cased the talent we have at Greenfields. The children have enjoyed lots of festivities including carol singing in the community, Christmas parties and our cheeky Greenfields Elf has been up to his old tricks.

As always, thank you for your continued support; we couldn't do what we do for the children without you.

NORTH TYNESIDE ADULT LEARNING ALLIANCE
|
“North Tyneside Council’s Adult Learning Service provides a range of courses, free of charge (subject to eligibility), to our residents in local venues across the borough, including:
English and Maths Workshops
The workshops are designed for anyone without GCSE or Level 2, where learners receive lots of support while working at their pace.
English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)
Adult Learning Service ESOL classes are designed to meet the needs of diverse learners, arriving and settling in North Tyneside. To find out more about the full ESOL provision:
The EAL (English as an Additional Language) parents/carers can text ENGLISH to 60002 and you will receive a call back from the dedicated Employment and Skills team. The team has a wealth of experience and skill in meeting the needs of all the customers, including those with little or no English.
This is an excellent opportunity for our EAL families in need of help with speaking, listening to, reading and writing English. The classes are flexible as you can join a class throughout the year and at your level, such as Community conversation classes without exams or you can work towards certificates in English for Speakers of Other Languages.
Digital skills
The courses will help you build and improve your digital confidence to get the skills to help you use technology for everyday life. Regular courses are available as well as personalised support through the Digital Outreach Project or mastering Microsoft Office through Microbytes sessions.

RECEPTION PUPILS COME AND JOIN US!
Parents can now apply for school places in Reception. Information on how to do this has been sent to our current nursery families via the school office. Please apply online.
If you have any queries, please email school.admissions@northtyneside.gov.uk giving the name and date of
birth of your child in the email.

Twelve-year-old Adela "Addie" Ramírez has a big decision to make when her stepfather proposes adoption. Mini Eagles
For anyone interested in getting more involved, the Newcastle Eagles are
offering weekly sessions for Reception and Yr 1 children to get
involved in basketball.

An Introduction to Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) ( half day session)
|
NTPCF CIC are pleased to be able to offer this workshop facilitated by Debbie Austin. In this training
Debbie describes how Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) has successfully helped her to understand
the communication behind Lucy's behaviours, and as a result has not only seen a positive increase in
Lucy's happiness and quality of life, but a significant decrease in the behaviours themselves.
Debbie works for the NHS as a Strategic Manager representing the needs of family carers. Prior to
this she spent 12 years in a community learning disability team as a specialist physiotherapist.

Debbie also works for the Challenging Behaviour Foundation as a parent co-facilitator for their PBS
workshop, for Mencap as a parent co-facilitator delivery the Early Positive Approaches to Support
Programme (E-PATS) and for Warwick University delivering the Positive Family Connections
Programme.
