Year 4 Skipping

Last week, Gail from Skipping School came to introduce the Year 4 children to the 8 skills they will need to participate in this summer’s skipping festival. This included double bounce, side swing and the very tricky pretzel! They had such fun and can’t wait to practice with Mrs Armer and Mrs Banks.

Sponsored Dance Event

In aid of ‘Mental Health and Well-being week’. After the overwhelming success and generosity shown by our community at the start of the year for our sponsored walk event. We will be taking part in a whole school sponsored dance on Friday 4th February. This will be in school time but will be videoed and shared via social media. Your child will be bringing home the sponsorship form today. On this day, children are also able to ‘Express themselves’ and wear non-uniform.

Newcastle Eagle Basketball Game

Greenfields and the GFPTA have managed to secure tickets for a Newcastle Eagles basketball match on Friday 18th February at 7.30pm. The tickets will be approximately £4.50 depending on the number of tickets sold. Because the game is an after school event it will not be school led; children will need to be taken to the game by an adult. The game is being held at the Newcastle Eagle's arena on Scotswood Road in Newcastle. If you would like tickets, please complete the form, if you haven't already done so, by clicking the following link:

Reading recommendation

'Remarkably You' is a book about all of the things-little or small, loud or quiet-that make us who we are. With encouraging text readers will delight in all the ways they can be their remarkable selves.
You might go unnoticed, or shine like a star,
but wherever you go and whoever you are...
don't change how you act to be just like the rest.
Believe in yourself and the things you do best.
