National Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week
#ExpressYourself
This week was National Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week. The theme of the week this year is “Expressing yourself”; this is about encouraging the children to find ways to share feelings, thoughts, or ideas, through creativity.
It’s important that we stress with the children that being able to express yourself is not about being the best at something or putting on a performance for others. It is about finding a way to show who you are, and how you see the world, that can help you feel good about yourself.
It was fabulous to see the children dressed up in their most colourful clothing as a true expression of their personalities. Well done everyone!

Friendship Fence
Thank you to everyone who has written a message for their friends or our community to hang on our friendship fence.
We decided to hold off hanging your fabulous messages as the weather has been so awful this week and we didn't want the to spoil in the rain. If the weather has improved next week we will begin to hang them- we will let you know when this is so that you can walk along the Waggonway and read these fabulous messages.

Fabulous pebble faces
Don't these pebble faces look fantastic. Well done to all those children who collected a pebble and the resources to make a face- I think they look fantastic! I can't wait to see them in a line down the drive. We'll let you know when we put them out, as we don't want them to spoil in the bad weather.

I hope you recognise some of your friends!

...be original...
This term the school value we will be focusing on is...
...be original..
~ never stop asking questions...seek out the answers ~
Be original is shown by the hands on our logo; they represent the importance of fostering our children to be questioning and evaluative of all they see and hear. This term you will see that children are encouraged to think originally about what they have learnt, develop an insatiable hunger for knowledge and question everything.

Reminders for families
Emails
We have set up year group email addresses if you need to speak directly with your child's teacher.
Please can parents and carers avoid using teacher's personal school email addresses. These emails are accessible to staff usually on their personal devices which means that they pick them up over the weekend and times when they are not at work. I'm sure you all support me in wanting our staff to have sufficient space away from work to recharge their batteries so that they are at their best at the start of each day and each week.
Thank you in advance for your support with this.
