I saw this picture earlier in the week… it depicts a field in Northumberland. You all know that the beautiful outdoors is important to us here at Greenfields, but this is not the reason it caught my eye…
Look at that fabulous red poppy; bold and brave amongst all those purple ones. It made me think of some of the conversations I have had this week- perhaps because we are all thinking ahead to transition and the new academic year ahead in September, perhaps because at times of change we can worry about whether or not we fit in, or whether or not we should raise our heads above the parapet.
Our school value this term is all about being bold. Bold because we want to ensure that children are confident in their own skin. Bold because we want them to have the integrity to do the right thing even if others around them are not. Bold because to stand up and be proud of who you are and what you believe in takes courage and confidence.
So in short, in case any of you are having those worries about whether you should stand proud, remember this little red poppy and how bold it is stood amongst this field of purple!
