School Meals

Our school meals are provided by Mellors Catering and are freshly prepared in the school kitchen every morning. They meet the rigorous school food guidelines set out by the Government and are designed to give children exactly the right kind of foods to keep them going until teatime, including energy-giving carbohydrates and at least two of their ‘five a day’ fruit and vegetables.Nut Free School - Mossley Hollins High School

We encourage children to have a hot school meal each day, but if you prefer, your child can bring a packed lunch to school. We are a nut free school and so we ask parents and carers to take care to ensure their children's packed lunches do not contain any products that may contain nuts. Fizzy drinks and glass bottles are not permitted and contents of packed lunches should be balances and nutritious.

All children in Reception, Year 1 or Year 2 are eligible for Universal Infant Free School Meals, but you must complete an application form to register. If you do not complete a free meal application form you will have to pay for meals from Year 3 up.

Unfortunately, North Tyneside council do not currently extend Free School Meals to cover Nursery aged children.

Payment of School Meals
Our payment system, School Gateway, can be accessed here: https://login.schoolgateway.com/0/auth/login or via the dedicated mobile phone app.

School Meals costs

Your child's balance will regularly update as they have school meals, and your account can be topped up with funds at any time on the Gateway. The system will remind you when your balance is low.

Food allergies & medically prescribed diets

Your child’s required diet needn’t prevent them from enjoying a healthy and tasty school lunch with their friends.

We can work with Mellors to make tailored menus to suit individual dietary requirements or allergies.

If you have any queries about school meals, please contact the school office.
