Home Learning
Blended Curriculum Overview (see Remote Learning Policy for more information)
Any child who is not able to attend school due to an infectious illness will be supported by school to access their daily lessons via Seesaw if they are well enough. An email is sent out on the first day of a reported absence where a child can access learning at home. Children are directed to BBC Bitesize on day one of their absence and are asked to access learning materials using BBC Bitesize (please see link below).
All subjects are covered across the course of each week, with core lessons daily. These follow the content outlined in our curriculum overviews and progression documents, which provide key content for each unit to support with staff delivery and pupil retention of sticky knowledge. These are shared with home learners and also followed by those in school to mirror a blended curriculum offer.
All children not in school are expected to complete remote learning if they are well enough. We can provide iPads and laptops or hard packs if this is not successful. We will arrange drop off of any required resources.
Nursery content will be uploaded daily and is optional, although we’d love children to join in and enjoy what is posted each day.
Reception children will be provided with 2 hours worth of activities that they are required to complete daily, along with additional supplementary activities for those who are able to complete these. We would also recommend daily reading.
KS1 children (Year 1 and 2) will be provided with 3 hours worth of required core content daily, as well as an additional non-core subject for those who are able to complete it. We would also recommend daily reading.
KS2 children (Year 3 to Year 6) will be provided with 4 hours worth of required content daily, as well as being encouraged to read daily.
All of these timings are in line with those stipulated by the DfE but can be completed in any order and at any time during the day. School staff will check, mark and provide feedback on all work uploaded to ensure learning objectives are met. Non-submission will be followed up with a check-in phone call to offer support.

Seesaw instructions have been emailed to families and children/families can post work on this for teachers to see and provide feedback.

BBC Bitesize
Bitesize Topics has got videos, quizzes, articles and practice activities from BBC Bitesize and partners to help you with home learning and is what we would advise you to use during day 1 of home learning. Just pick your year and subject to find a topic and get started!
