Outdoor Learning - Forest School

At Greenfields, our Forest School sessions encourage and inspire individuals of any age through an innovative, long-term, educational approach to outdoor play and learning in a woodland environment. This natural environment enables children to develop confidence through hands-on learning.

At Greenfields, we are very lucky to have an extensive Forest School area. Muddy Bairns and reception access our Forest School weekly, with regular outdoor sessions. Key Stage 1 & 2, spend one afternoon per week for a six-week period, accessing Forest School sessions led by Mrs Creedy, a fully-qualified Forest School Practitioner.

Our Forest School sessions are planned and developed in order to:

  • Increase self-esteem and self-confidence

  • Improve co-operation, communication skills and awareness of others

  • Increase motivation, self-discovery and positive attitude towards learning

  • Encourage ownership and pride in the local environment

  • Encourage a better understanding of the outdoors

  • Increase the skills and knowledge

  •
