High Hedges…

High Hedges…

This is a fabulous picture of our Muddy Bairns exploring part of our stunning grounds. Look how high the hedges and wild greenery around the children has grown. We ask our grounds maintenance team to mow us lots of ‘secret’ pathways like this in the long grass; it’s exciting to explore and it gives the children a sense of adventure because although they can see the end of the pathway, they can’t see around the corners…

I think this sums up school at the moment. We can see the end; where we want to get to, but we can’t quite see what is coming around the corner. In lots of ways this doesn’t matter as we have learnt together than we can adapt and ‘find a way’ if we need to. But in other ways it really does matter. No-one in our school wants to have something unexpected around the corner; no-one wants our children to miss out any more than they have already. What has been heart-warming is the dedication and resilience the staff continue to show day after day, week after week , making sure that no child misses out.

We have no idea what is coming around the corner in the Summer or beyond. But, you should be reassured that there is no group of adults more ready to do what is needed to ensure that we are ready to find our way to the end of the pathway.

Maybe I’ll invest in a set of hedge trimmers over the Summer.. maybe that will help!

Have a great weekend everyone!
