A Half Term Full of Adventure!

pic 1
Sponsored walk, drama, art, outdoors, trips, Halloween, animals, working together, learning, adventure ...
This half term our children have been truly amazing and have embraced everything that has been put in front of them with enthusiasm, resilience and most importantly with smiles on their faces.

Resilience, bikes, baking, public transport, trying new things, learning new things, family, adventure ...

We have had a fantastic half term full of exciting opportunities and adventure. It has been wonderful to watch the children embracing new things and challenging themselves; we couldn't have asked for anything more.
We can't wait to see what next half term has waiting for us.

Spooktacular fun!

The children and staff had great fun today dressing up in their Halloween fancy dress costumes.

We are looking forward to a spook-tacular evening at the GFPTA Halloween Disco. Children will spend 30 minutes in the disco area and 30 minutes playing Halloween games and Halloween crafts. We can't wait to see the children's dance moves!
Year 6 looking particularly spooky in their Halloween Fancy Dress!
Ghostly Greetings from Year 4!
Happy Halloween from Year 3!

Greenfields All stars!

A huge congratulations to Chloe Kirk in Year 3, who was selected by the spinning wheel as this half terms 'All Stars' prize winner!
Congratulations to our runners up: Athena Halsall, Jesse Bland, Chloe Robin, Luke Jobson, Lucas Reed, Ellie-May Gillespie, Alicia Laverick and Ella Cuthbert. Our runners up had a pumpkin carving session with Mrs Allan and carved their very own pumpkin.

Next Half Term

We return to school on Monday 1st November.

Look out for a letter that was sent out today regarding the reintroduction of some restrictions after October half term. We will continue to keep you up to date on our planned trips out of school and visitors into school. Any decisions made will be made with Public Health England advice.

Be Amazed

Given that we are breaking up for the half term break today, we would like you to tell us all about the adventures you go on and the things you enjoy over the holiday.

Reading recommendation

But the woods aren't all they seem - and are there even any wolves left? Mini Grey re-imagines the classic Little Red Riding Hood fable in an entirely new way. Can Little Red help her new friends in need and recover the wild days of the past?

This is a powerful, moving and funny picture book which will have children and adults revisiting its exquisite pages time and time again, and discussing the important message it holds.

Communication with staff

Please be reminded that after 6pm, class teachers will not respond to emails or requests for information on their year group emails, on Seesaw or Google classroom. Many of our staff are in school incredibly early in the morning, and so it is really important that they have time to rest and recuperate in the evening.

If you need to tell us about an urgent issue, please email:

Thank you for you cooperation and understanding.

Many of you will have already met our very friendly new Admin Assistant, Mrs McGarry, who is working with Mrs Wilson in the office.

For the next 3 weeks, the school office will be closed for training on a Friday between 10am-12:30pm

If you need to contact the school during this time you can either, email:

or leave a message on the answerphone and Mrs Wilson and Mrs McGarry will get back to you after 12:30pm

In the case of you needing to contact school urgently please call:

Parent Pay - school lunches

Payment for School Lunches
We have been contacted by a number of families unsure about the new North Tyneside payment system for school lunches. Joinos has been replaced by parentpay.

We would urge all of our parents to register with parentpay by emailing: parentpay@northtyneside.gov.uk (even if you are entitled to free school meals / universal infant free school meals) as this is not only an online payment facility but an important form of communication with the catering team at the Local Authority.

We are also aware in the roll out of this new system, some parents have received letters requesting payment.

If you have any questions or queries relating to this please email parentpay@northtyneside.gov.uk where a member of the Local Authority catering team will be able to help you.

Thank you
