Year 5 go to Vertu Motors Arena!

On Monday, Year 5 went to Vertu Motors Arena where the Newcastle Eagle Basketball team train and play games. They spent time with Chloe Gaynor, a Newcastle Eagles basketball coach and her team mates, exploring the science behind basketball, which included looking at statistics and percentages through video analysis, recording data by completing a basketball shooting experiment, forces using dribbling and passing to demonstrate the effects of gravity, pressure and momentum and much more. They had a brilliant time.

At Greenfields, we tell the children every day that they are special and unique and can do anything they set their mind to be it an explorer, adventurer or an inventor.
Stella Starflake Pearl is a great young protagonist who becomes the first female to be allowed into the Polar Bear Explorers' Club. On an expedition to the Icelands, Stella and three fellow junior explorers get separated from the main expedition.
With inventive touches to the story such as pygmy dinosaurs and frost fairies, the story landscape is easy to imagine and get lost in.
