Headteacher's Message
We've had a lovely start to the new term with lots already happening in school, including trips, sponsored walks and a football fixture. We have a bank holiday, a training day, transition days to new classes, a residential to Ford Castle and another round of Greenfield’s Got Talent to name a few, so please read the Newsletter carefully to keep up to date.

Muddy Bairns
Our Muddy Bairns children have been doing lots of exploring; getting very muddy in Forest School and Nursery enjoyed a fabulous trip to the farm this week.

The Greenfields Way
At Greenfield we pride ourselves in delivering an outstanding curriculum full of varying opportunities to enhance the children's learning.
Across the school our children have been bug hunting, watching caterpillars grow, sculpting in art, toasting marshmallows round the fire...
experimenting in science, representing in maths, looking at how germs spread and modeling with clay. I think you'll all agree that Greenfields is a fun and exciting place to be.

Sponsored Walks
All of the children across school have enjoyed taking part in the sponsored walk this week and what a brilliant job they all did. Thank you so much for supporting the children to raise money for their big summer trip. Year 6 still need to complete their walk but already the children have raised a staggering £1516.14. We are completely blown away.
We also held a movie night and Easter disco, raising £320.80 from movie night and £330 from the Easter disco.
As you all know we look for opportunities to raise money for school in order to provide enhanced opportunities for the children. Thank you for supporting us to achieve this.

Once there was a girl whose life was filled with wonder at the world around her… Then one day something happened that made the girl take her heart and put it in a safe place. However, after that it seemed that the world was emptier than before. But would she know how to get her heart back?
In this moving story, Oliver Jeffers deals with the themes of love and loss with an extraordinary lightness of touch and shows us, ultimately, that there is always hope.

Attendance & Punctuality
Attendance and punctuality really do matter.
It is well known that good school attendance affects a child’s success in learning and helps to fulfil their potential and give a chance of a better future. Please take some time to read the parent/carer leaflet that was emailed to you this half term and take note of the number of hours missed learning that occurs when children don't attend school or when they are late for school.
Please remember that if you are struggling to get your child into school, ring or email us; we will come to your home to help you to get your child into school.

Register for Free School Meals

The online form and eligibility can be found using this link https://my.northtyneside.gov.uk/category/238/freeschool-meals or you can go to the North Tyneside Council website and search for free school meals.

SEND Coffee Morning
On Thursday 9th May 9.15am-10am, Mrs Wilson and Mr Lumsdon are holding a SEND Coffee morning focusing on transition. Transitioning to a new class or school can be difficult for our SEND children so we'd like to set up an open discussion about ways in which we support your child in school and how you can support them at home. Rachel Smith and Kate Holmes from North Gosforth Academy will also be joining us to discuss the support they offer in terms of transition to the secondary school.
