Week 2 at Powburn

This week has seen our remaining classes have our end of year values visit to Powburn Scout Centre. There was also a very special visit from the leaders to Greenfields for our Reception children too.

The children have had a fabulous time. An enormous thank you to the Powburn staff for making each visit so enjoyable!

Staff news

This year we will be saying good bye to some very special staff.

Mrs Dixon will be leaving us after 27 years at Greenfields. For those of you who have had the pleasure of her kind nature and infectious sense of humour your will know she is going to me a huge miss. We wish you well Mrs Dixon on your next adventure!

Mr Broadhurst too will be leaving us. I know that the children and families in Year 6 will miss his selfless commitment to our school. We wish you the very best of luck sir!

Mrs Turnbull is retiring at the end of this year. Mrs Turnbull has worked in many classes across our school, but most recently in Nursery. Your knowledge of all thing early years will be missed. We wish you the very best of luck!

We are also wishing Mr Coverdale a big congratulations on his forthcoming wedding and Mrs Banks as she begins a part time secondment opportunity with North Tyneside Learning Trust for leading Science across North Tyneside.

We will be welcoming, Mrs McGary in the office who will be working with Mrs Wilson. To our TA team we will be welcoming Mrs Martignone and Miss Melrose; I know you will make them feel very welcome.

Welcome-Back-to-School
As we come to the end of this academic year we are of course thinking about the start of the new one. There are training days for staff on Wednesday 1st, Thursday 2nd and Friday 3rd September. The first day back of the new term for children is:

Thank you!

We all wanted to send an enormous thank you to the GFPTA for funding our ice-cream and ice lolly treats today! It was a lovely surprise and I think by the number of blue tongues and lips I've seen around the school this afternoon, I know the children have enjoyed them too!
