REMOTE LEARNING

This week has been the first week of putting our remote learning curriculum to the test. The Year 6 children have been engaged in their learning daily. I know they have been keeping Mrs banks on her toes with all the questions and by completing their work. Well done Year 6- keep up the good work!

Well done Greenfields!

In recognition of the excellent start to the school year the children have made and to reward them for being so settled, we would like to invite them to attend school in fancy dress or non-school uniform for a donation of 50p on Friday 23rd October. All money received will go towards Greenfields school fund.
If your child chooses to dress up in a Halloween costume, could you ensure the follow things:
  • No props of any kind to be brought into school e.g. knives, weapons, swords etc.
  • Appropriate face paint & costume, as the normal day will still continue
  • Make sure that your child is able to undo their costume independently, so they can go to the toilet.
We are really looking forward to enjoying this day with them.

RECEPTION ADMISSIONS NOW OPEN

If your child’s date of birth is between 1 September 2016 to 31 August 2017 you will need to complete an application for your child to start Reception Class. You need to make an application through your ‘home’ Local Authority. This is the
authority where you pay your council tax.

All the information you need is available on the North Tyneside website www.northtyneside.gov.uk

If you are unable to apply online you can complete a paper application. These are available from the school office or by emailing school.admissions@northtyneside.gov.uk

writing
This week in English, we created unique characters based on a story we have been reading- Max and his Millions by Ross Montgomery. We talked about how we could put information about our character’s new school into paragraphs and make it amazing for the reader.

...be amazed...

“Community is doing something amazing together that makes belonging matter”

This week has shown us how important it is to be part of something bigger; the Greenfields Community is very special and exclusive group. This week can you tell us what community means to you? Are you helping someone in your community? How does it make you feel when you help and support others?

Reading recommendation

Miss Cheel has done our reading recommendation for this week.
" I love the story of the Gruffalo- the mouse takes a walk through the woods, just like we will all be doing next week. I hope we don't bump into the Gruffalo!"
