Supporting the children of Wideopen to be amazed, be original, be brave and be bold.

Mrs Ele Dobson- Headteacher

Are you ...Ready for The World?

In_the_Footsteps_of_the_Prophet_SAW
Every week on a Friday, children in every year group are exploring in depth a person who embodies our school values. The person studied could be from the past or the present, local or international, young or old, but someone that is perhaps less well-known for their contribution to society; someone who the children may not have usually found out about. Why not ask your child about who they are learning about this half term?

3KC - Wu Chien Shiung

mountains
In Year 2, we have been designing and making our own mountains. We have tried painting them with realistic colours such as brown, which we have mixed red and black to make. Also, we know that it is cold at the peak of a mountain, so we have made light blues and whites for that. We have been amazed!

Year 2 have been reasoning in maths this week. The children are really beginning to understand it's not just important to know something, but you have to be able to use what you know too!

strong people

...be amazed...

“Strong people don’t put others down. They lift them up.”

This week tell us about someone you know who is amazing. Can you tell us why you think this? Have they done something special for you, or is it that you just want to tell them how special they are? It could be friend, someone in your family or someone at school.

rainbow fish

Reading recommendation

Mrs Cockman has done our reading recommendation for this week.
"I love this book. It's all about a gang of fish who wish they could have a shiny silver fin just like the rainbow fish; but the rainbow fish won't give any of his away. With a little help he learns how to be kind."

Information for Parents

NUT FREE SCHOOL AND PACKED LUNCHES

We have had some queries around items included in packed lunch boxes. As you know we are a nut free site. Items of food that state:

"may contain peanuts"

are not permitted in school. Please can you check your child's lunch box carefully. Thank you.
Disabled Bay Parking
We are aware that there are only limited spaces for parking on the school site. Please make sure that you are only parking in the disabled bays if you hold a registered 'blue badge'. Parents/carers not displaying their blue badge will be asked to park in another space. Thank you for your help.
