Supporting the children of Wideopen to be amazed, be brave, be original and be bold.

Mrs Gemma Robertson - Acting Headteacher

Bike Week

The children had a brilliant time on their bikes again this week. They showed our values of 'be brave', 'be bold', 'be amazed' and 'be original' on the bikes.

World of Work Week

Last week, we had a 'world of work week' where all of the children between Year 1 and Year 6 took part in a workshop. On Friday, the Year 5 and Year 6 children took part in a session with businesses where they asked them questions and found out about their job roles and responsibilities.
A huge thanks to North Tyneside Learning Trust for delivering the workshops and supporting school in delivering the session for the Year 5 and Year 6 children on Friday. Another huge thank you to all of the businesses that helped out on Friday; we couldn't have done it without you!

Be original book
In this book, children are encouraged to be proud of who they are inside.
Be who you are!
Be proud of where you're from.
Be a different color.
Speak your language.
Wear everything you need to be you.
Children are reminded that their unique traits are what make them so special and to embrace all their unique qualities.

Date Reminders

PTA Easter egg hunt: week commencing 4th April
Easter holidays: break up on Friday 8th April, return to school on Monday 25th April

Reminders

School uniform: blue jumper, white or light blue polo shirt, black trousers or skirt and black shoes.
PE kit: plain white or light blue t shirt, black or navy jogging bottoms and black trainers or plimsolls.
*Children should not wear earrings, nail varnish or make up at school. We do have a number of earring retainers for school so please ask us if you need some.

*Children should not bring any toys or footballs into school from home. The reason for this is that they can get lost. We have equipment in school for the children to play with during playtime and lunchtime.

Music Lessons

The last session of Ukulele and keyboard is on Friday 8th April. More information will follow after Easter about music lessons in the summer term.

Your children are the most important part of Greenfields. We strive to give them the tools to be confident, to be brave and to be bold and to teach them how to think not what to think.
