Class 6GR

Welcome to 6GR!

Mrs Robertson is the class teacher and also the Upper School Leader. If you have any questions or you would like to talk to her about anything, she is on the KS2 playground before and after school every day.

To find out what we are learning about each half term, the Year 6 curriculum plans can be found here.

As a class 6GR are a group of children who love a challenge. In fact, we thrive on a challenge and like nothing better than being given the opportunity to take responsibility for our own learning and show everyone what we are made of. Now that we are in our final year at Greenfields, we are enjoying being the oldest and most responsible in the school, setting good examples for the younger children. Alongside this, we are given the opportunity to take on different roles within the school day, such as being House Captains, Class Ambassadors, School Counsellors and Buddies, where we can really make an impact on our school and our peers.

In Year 6, we work on developing good learning habits – resilience and co-operation play a huge part in everything that we do. We know that working together and helping each other out, is an important skill to have. Because we do this, resilience comes easily – together, we rise to every challenge and give everything a try, even if we find it difficult. You can see all of our Year 6 Learning Habits here:

Important things to bring to school:

Water Bottles – children can bring their own water bottle into school and store it by the sink in the classroom. Please make sure that water bottles only have water inside.

Reading Folders – children need their reading book and reading diary in school every day.

PE – children need their PE kit in school every day. PE kit consists of a white t- shirt, black shorts and plimsolls/sand shoes.
